Recruiting Information

Do you enjoy entertaining people as you educate them?  The House Of Sydney is always looking for new performers!  We would love to add depth to our troupe in these areas:

• Nobleman (baron, viscount, earl)
  
• Noblewoman (baroness, viscountess, countess)
• Clergy of all levels
  
• Merchant/tradesman
• Knight or yeomen guards
• Household attendants
• Squires and pages
• Musicians
  

The House Of Sydney is based around the Des Moines, IA area, but we have members from all over.  The qualifications we're seeking:

• Strong interests in Renaissance history, general or specialized
• Experience speaking before crowds of up to 400 people (or more!)
  
• Ability to commit to school shows and festivals throughout the spring and summer
• Women - be comfortable wearing a hoop skirt (if appropriate!)
• Men - look good in tights (if appropriate!)

We typically meet on a monthly basis in Des Moines, as schedules and real-life permits.  We discuss everything from character development to costuming to brand-new ideas for shows!
